Attorney Bios

Darrell Dunham

Darrell Dunham has been an attorney, law professor, arbitrator, mediator, for over thirty years. He has practiced law in the state and federal courts, including the bankruptcy court, in Illinois and in federal court in Kentucky, Missouri, and Michigan, as well as in the Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Indiana. Professor Dunham has served as a legal consultant for attorneys throughout the United States. He specializes in bankruptcy law, civil litigation, worker’s compensation, with an emphasis in federal and state black lung litigation, and has an extensive civil litigation practice. He attempts to incorporate his Christian faith into his law practice. In this regard, a lawyer’s first duty is to his client, even if that requires the attorney to espouse unpopular positions. Darrell received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. In 1971 he received a J.D. degree from the same institution, graduating magna cum laude. In 1972 he received an LL.M. degree from Harvard University Law School. For a several years he served as faculty advisor to the Southern Illinois University Law School Chapter of the Christian Legal Society. He is married and has five children, all grown, two being adopted who were born in India. Darrell Dunham has been and continues to be active in missionary/benevolence work in India. In 2004, the Professor was the Distinguished Guest Speaker to the Bar Association of the East Godavari District, Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, India. Tara Dahl

Tara Dahl is an associate in the firm. Dahl is a native of Macomb, Illinois, and received her Bachelors of Business in Finance from Western Illinois University in 2004. She received her J.D. from Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, Virginia, in 2007. She is admitted to practice law in all courts in Illinois as well as the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois. She focuses her practice on the areas of family law, estate planning and administration, appellate work, civil litigation, and workers’ compensation. She recently had two articles published in the Journal of Law and Education on the issue of parental consent regarding surveys within the public school system: Dahl, Tara, “Surveys in America’s Classrooms: How Much do Parents Really Know?”, 37 J.L. & Educ. 143 (2008).
